INT. MOZART'S STUDY - DAY
The room is filled with sheet music, candles flickering. WOLFGANG AMADEUS MOZART (a frail yet vibrant 35-year-old composer) sits at a cluttered desk, quill in hand, scribbling notes feverishly. He pauses and leans back, gasping for breath.

MOZART
(to himself)
This must be perfect... The world deserves magic.

His wife, CONSTANCE (30, nurturing yet strong), enters with a concerned look. She carries a tray with tea.

CONSTANCE
Wolfgang, you need to rest. You're pushing yourself too hard.

MOZART
(eyes sparkling)
Rest? Im on the brink of greatness, Constance! 'The Magic Flute'its almost here!

He stands, excitement bubbling over, but winces as he grips his chest.

CONSTANCE
(frowning)
Your health is slipping. What good is your masterpiece if youre not there to see it?

MOZART
(smirks)
What do you think art is? It lives beyond the artist.

He gestures dramatically, almost losing balance. Constance rushes to steady him.

CONSTANCE
(urgent)
Please, Wolfgang. Just a moment to breathe.

MOZART
(sighs, then softens)
You always know how to ground me.

He takes a seat again. A FLASHBACK begins; the lighting shifts, showing YOUNG MOZART (15, bright-eyed) composing in a dimly lit room filled with instruments.

YOUNG MOZART
(exuberant)
Father! Listen! Ive crafted something magical!

The scene transitions back to the present study, where Mozart's laughter fades into a cough.

CONSTANCE
(supportive)
Your young self had dreams too. Are they not fulfilled?

MOZART
(shakes his head)
These dreams are ever-evolving. Each note brings its own burden.

CONSTANCE
(presses gently)
But each note also brings joy. Think of the people who will hear it.

MOZART
(nods thoughtfully)
Joy... I can still feel it.

He closes his eyes, lost in thought.

FLASHBACK: EXT. VIENNA STREET - DAY
Mozart as a boy plays piano on the street, charming an audience. Laughter and applause surround him, faces glowing with delight.

YOUNG MOZART
(bowing, beaming)
Thank you! Music is life!

BACK TO PRESENT: INT. MOZART'S STUDY - DAY
Mozart opens his eyes, a tear escaping, reflecting both pride and pain.

MOZART
(choked up)
That... that was my truth.

CONSTANCE
(tenderly)
And it still is, even now. Your music touches souls.

MOZART
(calmly)
Perhaps illness has only deepened my understanding of beauty.

A KNOCK interrupts them. Constance answers the door, revealing A FRIEND (40, enthusiastic).

FRIEND
(excitedly)
Wolfgang! The premiere is buzzing with anticipation!

MOZART
(smirking)
Is it? My heart flutters like a flute in flight.

Constance exchanges a knowing glance with the friend, both concerned yet proud.

CONSTANCE
(whispers)
Remember, it's just a performance.

MOZART
(grinning)
Just a performance that may very well outlive me.

As he carefully adjusts his coat, a FLASH of determination crosses his face.

MOZART
(to Constance)
Let us bring them magic then, illness be damned!

They share a warm smile, the weight lifted momentarily.

FRIEND
(cheerful)
To the premiere then!

They exit together, leaving behind the echoes of past struggles mingling with new hope.

FADE OUT.
